Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Jun 16
The 2004 Barbaresco is a bit silkier and more nuanced than the 2005 tasted alongside it. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, earthiness and spice notes open up in a gracious, effortless Barbaresco endowed with real class. This is another terrific, highly expressive Barbaresco from Cantina del Pino.

Barbaresco

Barbaresco, a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, is made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known as the “Queen” of Piedmont wines, it offers elegance and aromatic complexity with flavours of red cherries, raspberries, roses, and earthy notes. Its well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity enhance its ageing potential. With calcareous soils and favourable microclimates, Barbaresco is a more approachable alternative to Barolo. Top producers include Gaja, Produttori del Barbaresco, Bruno Giacosa, and Pio Cesare, who exemplify its refined character.
